For Immediate Release

Surrey, BC: Due to media interest in attending, please be advised of the following information regarding the Line of Duty Death funeral service for Surrey Fire Fighter Captain Randy Piticco.

Captain Piticco, a retired member worked for the Surrey Fire Service for 32 years, passed away on December 22, 2015 after a courageous battle with presumptive lung cancer.  Captain Piticco’s death is deemed a Line of Duty death as it has been attributed by agencies, including the Worker’s Compensation Branch of British Columbia, to his years of service as a fire fighter.

DATE: Sunday, January 24, 2016

TIME: 
3:00pm arrival (in advance of 4:00pm service)

LOCATION: Bell Performing Arts Centre, 6250 – 144th Street, Surrey

NOTES:  Media will be allowed into the auditorium.

IAFF Local 1271 President Mike McNamara (cell: 604.551.2631) will be available for interviews between 2:30pm – 3:00pm, prior to the 3:15pm parade.  Please come to the South Overflow Parking Lot C area (61A Ave and 144th Street).

 Arriving by 2:30pm is advised.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “In memory of Randy Piticco” to the Langley Community Support Groups Society – Hope After Stroke.
