Re: Line of Duty Death Service for Randy Piticco January 24th, Bell Performing Arts Centre (procession march begins @ 3pm). 

It is with deepest regret and sorrow that we report the line-of-duty death of Retired Captain Randy Piticco (61), Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. Captain Randy Piticco worked for the Surrey Fire Service for 32 ½ years as a career fire fighter. Randy passed away on December 22, 2015 after a short but very courageous battle with lung cancer.

DATE – Sunday, January 24th 2016

MUSTER – 2:30pm at Bell Performing Arts Centre, north parking lot – 6300-144th Street

MARSHAL : 3:00pm South Overflow Parking lot (6200 / 144th) Colour Party, Pipes and Drums, Honour Guard, Fire Chief & IAFF leaders.

SERVICE- 4:00 pm (sharp).  March Procession starts at 3pm.

LOCATION – Bell Performing Arts Centre, 6250 – 144th Street, Surrey, BC V3X 1A1 – MAP

RECEPTION – Following the service, a reception will be held in the foyer of the Bell Centre.

PARKING – Main front parking reserved for family, friends, and dignitaries.   Uniformed personnel use north parking lot 6300 – 144th Street; lot south of Bell Centre 6200 – 144th Street; or lot east of Bell Centre 6200 – 146th Street.

WAKE – 6:00pm, for uniformed personnel and family at Surrey Fire Fighters’ Union Hall, The Barge Inn, 7375 144th Street, Surrey – MAP

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made “In memory of Randy Piticco” to the Langley Community Support Groups Society – Hope after Stroke.  For online donations, Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society will accept donations and redirect them to Hope after Stroke:  www.surreyfirefighters.com/donate/

For uniformed personnel, the Class “B” uniform consists of the following items,

  1. Tunic with current fire service flashes, service bars on left cuff and round collar dogs on lapel
  2. Trousers/skirt
  3. Black leather belt with issued buckle
  4. Polished leather shoes or boots
  5. Black socks
  6. Rank appropriate dress work shirt (White or Lt Blue) with rank appropriate collar dogs
  7. Navy Tie
  8. Hat with issued Badge
  9. Rank appropriate hat band for confirmed Officers
  10. Adornments: Ribbons and merit awards only
  11. Medals worn by Honour Guard only
  12. Black band on hat badge – will be provided at ceremony (if needed).
