Holland Park Tribute Statue
Protecting the Future: Serving the Present
Art Form Sculpture Studio
This sculpture was dedicated to Surrey’s Professional Firefighters by Mayor Diane Watts and Council in recognition of 50 years of service (1957-2007). It represents the spirit and diversity of firefighters, their efforts to safeguard our neighbourhoods and homes, and their charitable work, especially that directly benefiting youth in our community.
The firefighter represents the cultural and ethnic diversity that is one of the hallmarks of the City of Surrey and SERVICE, the aim of all Firefighters:
SKILLFUL ETHICAL, RELIABLE, VALUABLE, INSPIRATIONAL, COURAGEOUS, & EXEMPLARY
The Surrey Fire Service donated this sculpture that they commissioned from Art Form Sculpture Studio. This collective team of artisans conceptualized, sculpted, molded, cast and fine-finished the bronze-coloured concrete statues. The team consists of Bill Johnson, Mike Snyder, Fred Dobbs and Derek Rowe. Each member of the team brought years of specialized skill and talent to create this detailed life size figurative work of art.
