Bill McNamara inducted into World Police & Fire Games 2015

On June 26th, 2015 Retired Surrey Fire Department Assistant Chief Bill McNamara was inducted into the World Police and Fire Games Hall of Fame for his 30 years of competition in the track and field events.

Bill attended the very first WPFG’s in San Jose, California (1985) and has competed and medaled in every games since.  The biennial games are held globally with this year’s games in Fairfax County, VA.

The competitions are broken in to age groups, and this year he was at the top end of the 70-74 age bracket. Bill’s accomplishments this year include; one bronze, six silver, and a gold medal and a new games record in the 4×400 where he had to run in the lower 60-64 age bracket.  His total medal count in the sixteen WPFG’s is 51.
